Meditation
By Merian Redman
I learned this technique several years ago while going through a divorce. It helped me settle down, clear my mind and go to sleep. Do this in an area where it is quiet and dim or no lights. Light a scented candle if you like (jasmine or lavendar scented works well) then lie down and shut your eyes. We are going to start at the ankles and work our way up to the top of the head. Imagine your feet, visualize them and breathe in filling your stomach first then your lungs with air. While you are doing this have a mantra or phrase you repeat in your head while breathing in. When you can take in no more air, hold your breath to the slow count of 4 then let it out slowly while saying your mantra, again in your head or whispering if you prefer. When exhaling, let all your air out, push it all out of your stomach and let your body sink into the bed. Let the weight of your body sink you into the mattress. When you cannot sink any more it is time to move up your body. Imagine your ankles - breathe in, filling your stomach first then your lungs with air while repeating your mantra in your head. When your stomach and lungs are full, hold your breath to the slow count of 4. Slowly exhale while saying your mantra in your head and let your body sink, sink and sink. I repeat this process at the knees, stomach, shoulders, elbows, hands, neck and face (include any place that may ail you). It takes a little practice. It works for me and maybe it will work for you. A few examples of mantras: Ohm, May all be happy. May all be healthy. May we all experience what is good and let no one suffer. Faith, Hope, Love Faith, Hope, Love May good befall all, May there be peace for all May all be fit for perfection, May all experience that which is auspicious. His Healing Hands His Healing Hands Find one that works for you, you can make up your own.

Nice Intel Merian. Meditation is be great for getting rid of stress, as long as you can find a quiet space where you can be left undisturbed. Impossible in my house!!
